"The Man on the 99th Floor" is the eagerly awaited new album from The Metamorph. Beauty and originality are the two words that spring to mind for this exceptional LP.

The Metamorph (real name Gavin Brick) has been a busy man of late. This new LP arrives just a few months after finishing an extensive UK tour on keyboard duty for Pete Wylie and The Mighty Wah! on the 40th anniversary tour of Pete's signature record "The Story of the Blues"

For fans of Gavin's music, you will not be disappointed. His trademark minimalism is very much omnipresent, but with a fresh approach. "'The Man on the 99th Floor' is a very minimalist, brutalist recording" Gavin explains. "No piano sounds or heavily textured layers...I have worked within a relatively small sound palette, almost as an exercise in sonic discipline, but I have refined my style and sound to a new level."

For three of the tracks on the album, 'Baroque Duel', Scandroids' and 'The Precipice', Gavin secured the guitar services of the legendary Scanner/Robin Rimbaud. Mainly known for his electronic live and studio proficiency, Robin adds an accomplished extra dimension to the LP. "Robin did the most amazing work and captured the spirit of what I was trying to achieve effortlessly."

The cherry on top for 'The Man on the 99th Floor' is the exceptional artwork, by way of another talented friend of The Metamorph.
"The sleeve artwork is by KARBORN aka John Leigh, whose artworks enhance my home and who kindly agreed to let me use his piece 'Europe Ozymandias' for the front cover. John's incredible works are also astonishing in their beauty and originality."

Great album, love the dreamy nostalgic spacey-ness. The old educational samples transport me back to early school days in the TV room and when all we had to worry about was if we were wearing the right trainers or swapping Panini football stickers. vsep13
