"Red Tape is the product of a long immersion into (not only) electronic music and its possibilities (and maybe limits, while pushing them).

The Metamorph has chosen his moniker wisely, as the variability of this tape demonstrates. Although quite often romantic "piano-based" elements come into sight, and you can hear traces of a Satie-esque sense of nostalgia AND Keith Jarrett (I kid you not!) on tracks like "Praeterita", which is lovable already, it is the stricter, sometimes harsher electronic elements that add the edges that make this album a complete pleasure. If in doubt, try "Compassion Circuit". A soundtrack to an SF-Movie I'd like to see...

As this tape is a showcase it is at first glance hard to identify a common theme. Still I'd like to presume that living close to the sea results in a science-fictional, elemental atmosphere, with wind and water dominating a torn landcape. However, that is completely the association I have, your impressions may vary.

All tracks deserve repeated listening, but especially "Night Swimmer" (one of my absolute favorites) and the marvelous and drony "Landscape into Art" are outstanding."
